Preaching is foolishness.  That's not necessarily a great way to "market" oneself, is it?  But preaching is never about the preacher or about 'selling' a 'product' to a 'market' - or at least, it shouldn't be - but rather it is a sign that points to the One who is exalted through the message that is given.  In Christian preaching, the One who is exalted is always Jesus Christ.

In Paul's first letter to the church in Corinth he writes, "the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God...for since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe...for the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength" (I Cor. 1:18, 21, 25).

I believe that preaching is foolishness - and as such, I am glad to be used by God in this way to exalt Jesus Christ and proclaim the truth of the gospel - that the Kingdom of God is here, now, and that we need to stop, turn, and follow Jesus, in everything, and in every way.

I am available for 'pulpit supply' at your church or as a 'guest preacher' with a unique perspective, or for speaking, preaching, or teaching at special events both large and small. Be sure to contact me for more information and check out the "speaking" tab above!

My preaching places Jesus Christ at the center, uses scripture as the primary source, is often narrative in nature, and focuses on such topics as spiritual formation and discipleship, the Kingdom of God and the Church, worship and transformation, relationships between God, ourselves, and others, the "Great Commission" and "Great Commandment," and helping the people of God to "know, do, be and become" all that God desires for us.

You can view videos of my preaching on my YouTube Channel or listen to audio on Sermon Network to get a feel for what my preaching is like.
